Bye bye blue balloon...

The blue balloon has finally taken it's fall! We will see in TWO days if the balloons are right! I can't type my excitement!! Ha ha. : ) I am so ready to finish up the nursery. I just want it mostly done before the holiday's and I'm busy with my huge family and work and feeling exhausted. I don't want to be stressing last minute 'cause we aren't ready for baby's homecoming.

20 Weeks!

Welp, I'm half way there!! 20 weeks and 2 days, today. I can not believe how fast time is moving! And I know I say that ALL the time, but it's so true. It just keeps on accelerating and moving faster and faster every day it seems.

We are officially into my favorite time of year. mid September - December! I just love everything about these months. The crisp air, the snow, the holidays, crafts & baking and TONS of decorations. Ah, it just makes my heart happy. I can't wait to spend this time of year with my little sweet pea, next year. I'm sure it will be nothing short of amazing and make me love these months even more.

Rogelio & I got an invitation a few weeks ago, for this upcoming Saturday. I thought it was going to be for a birthday party for one of his many nephews or nieces or something along those lines, but it wasn't! It was an invite to a part, for US. His sister is throwing it. How horribly sweet is that? I just adore his family. It's not a baby shower, just a family get together to celebrate us bringing a precious baby into this world. Lots of food & all of his family.

Food Cravings: This past week I've really loved over hard eggs with spinach, light mayo & cheese on a wheat english muffin. Seriously my favorite breakfast right now.

Food aversions: Nothing new this week.

Weight Gain: 8 lbs according to the doctors but only 4 lbs according to my scale at home. I get weighed at the doctors again in 2 weeks, so we will see. My weight on my home scale hasn't changed though.

Symptoms: I'm bloated all of the time, and it hurts! Also, everything gives me heartburn/acid reflex. It's horrible.

Movement: Yes!

Memory Of The Week: On the 15th, Rogelio felt the baby kick for the very first time!!! He was so excited, and so was I. I've only felt it with my hand a few times, so I was soooo happy that he got to feel it as well.

Stretch Marks: Nope. Lets keep it this way!

Showing: Mhm. More so in the evening. Like, my belly button gets a little shallow towards the end of the day. Haha.

Gender Prediction: I feel like we are having a girl. I will be happy with a boy too, though.

Maternity Cloths: Yes.

19 Weeks!

My belly has really popped in the last couple of weeks, and it's starting to feel more hard. I can feel a significant difference when leaning forward while sitting or bending over to pick something up. It's such a strange feeling. I love sitting & staring down at my growing tummy. If I stand up straight & just glance down, my feet have disappeared! Of course I can still lean forward a bit to view them... for now. I can not believe my half way mark is next Tuesday! So exciting. Time has flown. I'm the happiest I've ever been and only getting happier.

It was finally down in the 50's & 60's today temperature wise and let me tell you, I LOVED it. I'm not a summer gal. I can't stand the heat & being hot. So this chilly day with light sprinkles was just my cup of tea.... or peppermint hot chocolate, like what I got at Starbucks in Target today. Delicious! I haven't gone as far as digging out my cute autumn/winter boots that I practically live in during the colder season, but I know I will be soon!

1.5 Weeks till our 5 month scan! I'm already convinced that little baby Alcantara is girl, but I could be wrong. ; ) We will see!.....hopefully!

Food Cravings: Fruits & veggies have been at the top of my grocery list this week. Particularly fresh steamed broccoli with a squeeze of lemon & salt. Nom nom nom! I could eat that alllllll day long. Too bad it gives me a painful bloat. Ouch! I've also been eating loads of raspberries, strawberries & clementines with vanilla yogurt. We ran out of my favorite black grapes & the price has gone up drastically at the grocery store (3.60 a lbs!), so I'll just have to wait for the next sale. Aw shucks!

Food aversions: Not really. Just nothing stinky.

Weight Gain: 8 lbs according to the doctors but only 4 lbs according to my scale at home. I haven't gained anything in the past couple of weeks.

Symptoms: BLOATING has been horrible this week! It's so painful. But I am guessing it's mainly because of all veggies I've been eating in abundance lately.

Movement: Yes, still waiting on those big movements though!

Memory Of The Week: Waking up a few days ago and looking down at my tummy thinking 'when did you get here?' Just popped out overnight it seems!
Stretch Marks: Nope. Lets keep it this way!

Showing: Ohh yeah. See pictures above!

Gender Prediction: I feel like we are having a girl. I will be happy with a boy too, though.

Maternity Cloths:The undershirt I am wearing in the pictures above is from Motherhood in the mall, and I'm also wearing some cute maternity skinny jeans, too. I've got a few more undershirts, a cute sweater & a couple shirts. I would love to find a cute dress - doesn't have to be maternity, just comfy - to wear for my birthday, which will actually be celebrated on the day AFTER my birthday because that's the day we find out what we are having and I've already got that day off work, so it's perfect.

17 Weeks!

We've got a crib now, too! My hubby, Rogelio, has a little tradition/game that runs in his family that once you have the crib set up you tie a blue balloon and a pink balloon to the rails. The one to deflate the most first is what you are not having. I thought that was just adorable, so of course we are keeping the tradition!

Of course I got all excited when I saw that the blue balloon was all wrinkly & losing air while the pink one was still nice and plump. He he he. ; )

Here's some pictures!

Our awesome dresser! I just love it. Rogelio had to have his brother come over & help him get it up the stairs, 'cause no way was I going to be able to be of any assistance. That thing weighs a ton!

I love love LOVE our crib! It's a Simmons 4 in 1 (converts to a toddler bed, day bed & full sized/twin bed). It came with a free $109 dollar mattress, what a deal! My mom actually found it & told us about it. So happy she did, because we were having a horrible time crib shopping. Seemed everything we fell in love with, all the stores were sold out of or they weren't active meaning that it couldn't be ordered. Just frustrating. But we have one now, and it's beautiful, so I'm happy happy happy!

Close up of the balloons. Go pink! Hehe, I'll be happy no matter what we are having, but this is a fun game.

Thought I'd throw a picture in here of our diaper collection thus far. Also, the Winnie the Pooh box sitting on the dresser in the first picture is full of newborn sized diapers & sensitive wipes. We will not purchase anymore newborn sized ones since they grow out of those so quickly. We have two boxes of size 1 and  two boxes of size 2. That's also all we are going to buy for those sizes. I think three boxes of size 3 is what we are going to be getting next. I'm just going off of how many of each diapers my nephews & nieces used as infants. If we end up buying too many, no biggie, there's always babies around in the family or in my circle of friends that could use them up! And if we are a little short... it's a nice excuse to get out of the house with baby! : )

And last but not least, my hubby surprised me with a blanket he had made with our first ultrasound picture on it! How sweet is that?!

Food Cravings: Eh, nothing in particular. I like food, I just didn't crave anything this week.

Food aversions: Nope. My aversion to meat has eased up, but I still don't wanna eat much of it. It's just not something I think about.

Weight Gain: 8 lbs. Woah mama. I got weighed at the doctors this morning. May I note I was wearing jeans & a sweater. Yes, stating that does make me feel better about that number!

Symptoms: Hot flashes, of course the peeing every 15-30 minutes, head aches have come back, EXHAUSTION, and this little unpleasant pain in my lower back that shoots down into my butt. How nice. Always seems to appear while I'm at work, on my feet for a long period of time.

Movement: Some light movement. Nothing big yet.

Memory Of The Week: Hearing babies heart beat again at my appointment this morning. I always love that.

Stretch Marks: Nope. I did buy some Paulmers Body Butter for Stretch Marks yesterday. I know nothing can prevent them, because it all comes down to genetics but I do believe it'll be easier for your skin to stretch if it's well moisturized. Also, it can help with the horrible itchiness that my sister experienced from her skin stretching.

Showing: I'm officially in maternity jeans. Yep.

Gender Prediction: I feel like we are having a girl. I will be happy with a boy too, though.

Maternity Cloths: I've got a few items for when I'm bigger, that I bought on sale & yesterday I bought a pair of jeans and a few undershirts. I also had to buy a new bra. I'm officially a whole cup size larger than pre-pregnancy. They don't even feel like mine! ....Hubby's loving it though, of course.
